Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Penn, a personal budgeting and money-tracking web app. By creating an account or using Penn, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Penn.

1. What Penn is, and is not

Penn helps you record and organize your own money: accounts, transactions, budgets, bills, and savings goals. Penn is not a bank, e-wallet, lender, or payment processor. It does not hold, move, or invest your money, and it does not connect to your bank accounts. Balances and insights in Penn are based only on the records you enter.

Penn does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Tips and insights in the app are general information only. Make important financial decisions with your own judgment or a qualified professional.

2. Your account

  • You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly through Penn support if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • You must be at least 18 years old, or use Penn with the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • One person per account. Do not share your account or use someone else's.

3. Your data

You own the records you put into Penn. You give Penn permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. You can export your transactions or download a full backup from Settings at any time.

4. Plans and payments

  • Penn offers plans with the prices and billing periods shown on the welcome page at the time you subscribe.
  • Payment is made outside Penn. You then submit your payment reference number and receipt in the app for review. A plan becomes active, or is extended by one billing period, only after a Penn administrator approves the payment.
  • Submitting a false, altered, or someone else's receipt is not allowed and may lead to the payment being rejected and your account being suspended.
  • Plans do not renew automatically. When a plan expires, some features may become read-only until you renew. Your records are not deleted because a plan expired.
  • If you believe a payment was rejected or applied in error, contact Penn support. Refund requests are reviewed case by case and as required by applicable law, including the Consumer Act of the Philippines.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Penn for anything unlawful, including fraud or money laundering;
  • try to access another person's account or data, or Penn's systems beyond what the app allows;
  • interfere with or overload the service, or use automated tools to scrape it;
  • upload malware, or harassing, illegal, or infringing content in receipts or support messages.

6. Suspension and closing your account

Penn may disable or ban an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or the service at risk, or is required to be suspended by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. You may stop using Penn at any time and ask Penn support to delete your account. Download a backup first if you want to keep your records.

7. Availability and offline use

We work to keep Penn available, but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. Records you add while offline are saved on your device and sync when you reconnect. Records that never sync, for example because browser data was cleared, may be lost. Reminders depend on your browser and device notification settings and may arrive late or not at all.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Penn is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Penn is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by inaccurate records, missed reminders, or decisions made using the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Philippine law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Penn changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Penn after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Questions about these terms can be sent through Penn support on the welcome page or in the app.
